On a property in Vienna, Caritas has built a new building with a usable area of around 300 m² for socially disadvantaged people. The ground floor and first floor each contain a shared flat with 7 rooms and common rooms for living and dining. The ground floor with its main entrance to the west of the building is wheelchair accessible; the upper floor is accessed by an external staircase and is a separate living unit. The house with flat roof is a post and beam structure with a visible wooden ceiling. The wall construction and windows with 3-pane glazing ensure the building meets low-energy house standards with Weissenseer quality.
