Originally planned as a stone construction, the Schwebach Dance School was ultimately built as a prefabricated lightweight wood construction. In addition to the much shorter construction time, the natural climate and user comfort were the main arguments in favour of the wood variant. The highest requirements had to be met in terms of fire protection, acoustics and sound insulation. In addition to the dance school on the ground floor and first floor, the three-floor building also houses two residential units in the attic. The load-bearing outer walls are constructed as a timber frame construction, and all false ceilings as well as the ceiling of the top floor are done with solid wood construction.
With Weissenseer’s progressive timber construction, which conforms to low energy standards, builders and planners also want to be a beacon for ecological construction and careful handling of material building resources.
